Cornell University

Quanece Williams ’16

Political Science and History double major Quanece Williams ’16 is entering her final year of law school at Cornell University. She is an Honors Fellow in the Lawyering Program. “My Eastern experience was transformative. As a student, I took rigorous courses, conducted research in the History and Political Science Departments, served as a teacher’s assistant, and went on a global field course to Europe. At Eastern, I learned to think critically, seize new opportunities and strengthen my leadership skills. The Eastern community continues to support me and will forever hold a special place in my heart.”

Chris Brown ’17

Chris is a financial reporting and investment accounting specialist at AXA XL. As an Eastern student, he volunteered with the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program to income-tax preparation assistance to lower-income families and individuals with preparing their income taxes. “VITA helped me to realize how much I enjoy tax accounting, which is what I primarily focus on in my current position.”

Cy earned his master’s degree in architecture at Florida International University in 2021. He works as a design coordinator at Stantec and aspires to design eco-friendly, sustainable buildings. “I’ve always been interested in working with my hands, that’s why I’m an artist. Lindsay (Delosier) Serra ’13

Lindsay is photography editor for Carrie Draghi Photography. “The Visual Arts program helped me channel my love for art in many ways. I was able to express my creativity through screen printing, drawing and sculpture. My graphic design classes also helped to solidify my style in design. I graduated with the pride and confidence to work at the best of my ability in my career.”

Melissa Nosal ’13

Melissa is the creative content and design coordinator at Harvard Medical School's Center for Bioethics. “The Visual Arts program laid the groundwork for my knowledge in color theory, page layout, typography and other rules of design. It also introduced me to the creative software I now use daily to create digital illustrations, retouch photos, and design all sorts of materials.”

Olivia Provey ’14

Olivia is art-making director and studio photographer at Eskayel, a Brooklyn-based textile design firm. “It was during my printmaking classes at Eastern when I started to become interested in textiles. I was able to do an independent study where I focused on relief printing on fabrics. This led to my career in the textile design world.”

“At first, I wanted to be a dentist, but along the way, Coach Clyde Washburn opened my eyes to athletic training, physical therapy and the spirit of teamwork. Kevin Connolly ’17

Kevin was a Barnard Scholar at Eastern, earned his master’s degree in medical laboratory sciences at Quinnipiac University and is now pursuing a doctorate at Brown University in molecular biology. “At Eastern I was fortunate to formulate my own research question and learn not only the satisfaction of obtaining significant findings, but the hardships that go along with conducting research and how to overcome those struggles.”
